Programme description

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. All staff and volunteers have a responsibility to provide a safe environment in which children can learn and will be expected to undertake suitable training and comply with school safeguarding policies.

Safeguarding is one of the most important responsibilities for governors and trustees – but annual training can feel repetitive. That’s why NGA has taken a new approach with this year’s Learning Link safeguarding module updates. Built completely in-house, it’s designed to save time while keeping you up to date with the latest priorities - and reflect what you already know and where you are in your governance journey.

From attendance to online risks, this year’s updates reflect the changing challenges schools face.

The programme is part of the Governance Induction Programme

The programme is structured as follows:

Preview slides

"The segregation between experienced and new governors was welcome. It was great to have the good knowledge check validation (and also act as a good reminder of the breadth of the topic) followed by a specific update. This made good use of my time, and an effective training course by promoting the incremental details which can get lost in annual courses."

User review

"Really useful pdf reminder lists. Appreciated the update pathway, which was excellent and really pleased to see the test to ensure knowledge first. Well done NGA. I will recommend this course widely in the LA."

User review

"The opportunity to undertake a refresher test of knowledge and focus upon the new changes is very appreciated. It allowed focus on the new elements for 25/26, and these were well presented in the tri-box formats."
