Programme description

Governing at a local level within a multi-academy trust is a unique challenge that many people are still getting to grips with. This bitesize module will help you navigate the challenges of governing in a local setting, explaining how the local tier fits into a broader trust structure, the roles and responsibilities of governors on academy committees, and more essential tips and guidance.

Fariha Choudhury, Senior Projects and Advocacy Officer

Fariha supports the development of NGA's policy and information outputs with a particular focus on multi academy trust governance. Alongside working at NGA, Fariha is undertaking a Masters in Education at the University of Birmingham.

Michael Barton

Michael Barton, Head of Advocacy and External Affairs

Michael specialises in trust governance, co-ordinating NGA's work with multi-academy trusts and producing tailored resources. He also leads NGA's work in the West Midlands, working closely with the region's trusts and local authorities.

Megan Tate

Megan Tate, Policy and Research Officer

Megan’s role involves supporting NGA’s policy, research and information team. She is responsible for policy relating to the environment and sustainability.
